The Fisker Karma

The Karma’s performance specs rev out at 0-60 mph in 6 seconds, and a top speed of 125 mph. At $80,000 USD, The car is a plug-in hybrid based on technology of Quantum Technologies. The Q DRIVE consists of a small gasoline engine which in turn charges the lithium battery packs in the car. According to Fisker, if charged properly, the hybrid would need to use no more than a fuel tank per year, quite a claim

The Tesla Roadster

No list would be complete, without what is probably the greenest sports car in the planet. The Tesla Roadster, is the cream of the top. The fully electrically powered sports car can do 0-100kph/60mph in a little over 4 seconds. To give you an idea of how cool this car is, if we were to calculate the fuel efficiency of this vehicle it would be the equivalent of 135 miles PER GALLON! Not bad for a fully electrically powered vehicle. Take that Ferrari!

Toyota FT-HS

Now when talking about power, you can’t help but wish that you had access to a FT-HS. So far, most of these have been concept cars. Not this one though, as this vehicle is scheduled to go into production in 2009. Soon we can all be salivating at the beauty of its advanced hybrid - gasoline system, capable of moving you from 0 to 100kph/60mph in an astonishing four seconds flat. Now that’s what we call power!

Citroen C-Metisse

Unveiled at the Paris show last year, the Citroen C-Metisse Concept is another attempt to create a diesel hybrid car. What’s so exciting about that? well this particular vehicle can operate in a Zero Emission mode, an all electric mode perfect for city cruising, while giving you access to the power of the diesel engine when needed in the motorway. While not as fast as the Saab, the fact that it has a mixed mode engine puts it just a bit higher in our list.

Venturi Fetish

Looking like something out of a spy movie, the Venturi Fetish is the world’s only in production electric sports car. While its top speed is only 100mph, it’ll give you plenty of power in the initial acceleration as it does a good 0-100kph/60mph in about 5 seconds. sadly, only 25 cars are being produced a year. But this list wouldn’t be complete without it.

Saab Aero X

It’s encouraging to see car manufacturers look for alternative fuel sources to power their vehicles. This particular concept by Saab comes equipped with an ethanol guzzling 2.8L twin-turbocharged V6 that can get you from 0 to 100kph/60mph in 4.2 seconds. Even cooler, the car has no doors, rather, the entire top canopy section of the car opens up, making it one of the most unique designs out there. Sadly, the car is still on concept stage. But one can still dream.

The New Pontiac Solstice coupe

Looking for a fast and good looking car that you can always be proud of? Then, the Pontiac vehicles are the best that you can consider. Pontiac is a marquee of automobile produced by General Motors and sold in the United States, Canada and Mexico from 1926 to the present. In the GM brand lineup, Pontiac is a mid-level brand featuring a sportier, high-performance driving experience for a reasonable price, and its advertisements appeal to younger customers. The Pontiac brand was introduced by General Motors in 1926 as the ‘companion’ marque to GM’s Oakland Motor Car line. The Pontiac name was first used in 1906 by the Pontiac Spring & Wagon Works and linked to Chief Pontiac who led an unsuccessful uprising against the British shortly after the French and Indian War. The Oakland Motor Company and Pontiac Spring & Wagon Works Company merged in November 1908 under the name of the Oakland Motor Car Company. The operations of both companies were joined together in Pontiac, Michigan (in Oakland County) to build the Cartercar. Oakland was purchased by General Motors in 1909. The first General Motors Pontiac was conceived as an affordable six cylinder that was intended to compete with more inexpensive four cylinder models. Within months of its introduction, Pontiac outsold Oakland. As Pontiac’s sales rose and Oakland’s sales began to decline, Pontiac became the only ‘companion’ marque to survive its ‘parent’, when Oakland ceased production in 1932.

So, if you want to drive a quality, good looking and high performance car, the 2009 Pontiac Solstice coupe is the one to watch out for. The 2009 Pontiac Solstice coupe is expected to arrive in Pontiac dealerships and other foreign showrooms in early 2009 next year.

The new Pontiac G6 GXP

The Pontiac G6 is a mid-size car released in September 2004 for the 2005 model year. It uses the GM Epsilon platform, sharing it with the Cadillac BLS, Chevrolet Malibu, Fiat Croma, Opel Vectra, Saab 9-3, and Saturn Aura. Introduced at the 2004 North American International Auto Show, the G6 is a direct replacement for the Grand Am, and is also aimed at the market formerly held by the Grand Prix. The G6 is the sole replacement for both vehicles in Mexico, since that market will not initially receive the new Pontiac G8.
The new, 2008 G6 GXP performance coupe and sedan bring a new, performance-oriented dimension to the G6’s broad lineup. They will be available with both base and Street edition packages. Pontiac G6 GXP Street edition models are easily identified by their new front fascia, which features new fog lamps and braided polished stainless steel upper and outboard lower grille inserts with chrome surrounds on the upper grille sections leading to a revised hood with scoops. New body side rocker moldings lead to a redesigned rear fascia with two exhaust openings. Chrome, dual-wall tips exit through the openings. A rear spoiler also is part of the GXP package, but is specific to either the coupe or sedan; the coupe model receives a larger, more aggressive “hammerhead” spoiler. GXP-specific 18-inch wheels are also standard in the Street edition package.

2008 Viper SRT10. Only from Dodge

Looking for the right vehicle that can best suit your taste and preferences? If yes, you will have big problem in choosing since there are large numbers of car manufacturer which produce and design vehicles. But if I get to choose a car for me, I will definitely take home one of the several dodge vehicle models. One good example of a dodge model which is now available in the market is the new 2008 Viper SRT10. It usually boasts more of what performance aficionados crave: kick-in-the-pants, throw-back-in-the-seat power, combined with benchmark braking, world-class ride and handling, a race-inspired interior and bold exterior styling. While every SRT vehicle offers balanced, overall performance, the heart and soul of the new 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 is its standout powertrain. For 2008, SRT ups the ante with a new, 8.4-liter aluminum V-10 engine that produces an astounding 600 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque. The new 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 will arrive in Dodge showrooms in North America this summer with a new level of customization options, including five new exterior colors, four new interior color combinations and a new wheel design.

Mean Land Rover

A new Land Rover technology, Dynamic Response, further reduces roll and improves handling. This computer-controlled active anti-roll system senses cornering forces and then acts to reduce lean. It’s one of the key reasons why this powerful SUV has the agility and handling of a much smaller sporty vehicle. In keeping with its “driver’s pedigree”, much work on the chassis tuning of the Range Rover Supercharged was undertaken at the Nürburgring race circuit in Germany, in addition to the extensive and rigorous on-road and off-road Land Rover development program. On the supercharged version, four-piston race-bred Brembo front brakes help give superb braking ability. The Range Rover Supercharged is one of the most aerodynamic of all SUVs. Although packed with recognizable Range Rover cues, it is stylistically different in many ways. The windscreen is more steeply raked, the roofline is lower and sloped, the glass is flush fitting, the characteristic Range Rover bonnet castellations have been smoothed away and the vehicle sits lower.

Stylish Concept Vehicle from Peugeot

Ideas sometimes come together to give life to even the most fantastic ideas. In some cases the dreams finally become reality, making way for part-real, part-fantasy automotive designs. The result of such an idea is the 308 RC Z concept cars. The 308 RC Z concept cars is a new Peugeot interpretation of driving pleasure. The car is a 2+2 coupe, with true versatility and at the same time a style that is modern, original and well-balanced. Attention initially focused on making the vehicle as light as possible by the use of numerous aluminum components, for example the two roll over protection bars that separate the passenger compartment and give shape to the exterior styling, and the use of a polycarbonate rear windscreen and a large number of carbon fiber body parts.

Black Turbo X from SAAB

The Saab Turbo X adds a new dimension in chassis control to Saab’s unrivalled experience in turbo charging. It is the result of a development program that leverages the full potential of Saab’s innovative XWD system, with the car’s sports tuned suspension, brakes and electronic control systems all aligned to meet a single need: driving satisfaction. Saab XWD is an active all-wheel-drive system designed to optimize vehicle handling and stability. Its sophisticated electronic control allows fine balancing of drive torque, not only between the two axles but also between the rear wheels. In effect, this stretches the performance envelope of the chassis, for example, raising the threshold at which ESP throttle and braking interventions are triggered. The result is closer driver involvement through ‘positive force’ chassis control. Driver control is taken a step further on the Turbo X by the eLSD, the first application of an electronically-controlled, rear limited slip differential in this segment of the market. It uses inputs from the rear wheel speed sensors and can transfer up to 40% of torque between the drive shafts, to whichever wheel has more grip. When cornering hard, this yaw damping effect helps the rear of the car more closely follow the direction of the front wheels.Stopping power is also increased with larger brake discs fitted: internally ventilated (345 mm diameter x 30 mm) at the front and externally ventilated (292 mm diameter x 20 mm) at the rear. Standard 235/45 R18 tires ensure excellent mechanical grip for the 18-inch alloy wheels. The powerhouse at the heart of the Turbo X is a 24-valve, 2.8-liter V6 turbo engine generating 295 lb-ft of torque between 2,150 and 4,500 rpm and maximum power of 280 bhp at 5,500 rpm. The advanced specification includes a lightweight, all-aluminum construction with a 60-degree angle between the cylinder banks for perfect balance, variable inlet valve timing and twin-scroll turbo charging. It is offered with a choice of six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

2009 BMW M3: The Race Version!!!

BMW presented the racing version of the new BMW M3 at the Chicago Auto Show. Powered by a 485 bhp eight cylinder engine, this impressive race car has been designed to compete in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) beginning in 2009. The car is based on the fourth generation of the BMW M3, the high-performance sports car produced by BMW M GmbH.

BMW’s 2009 entry into the American Le Mans Series will be driven by a partnership between BMW of North America, LLC and Rahal Letterman Racing, co-owned by US motorsport legend Bobby Rahal. In the course of developing the race version of the BMW M3, BMW’s engineers were faced with an ambitious task: to improve upon the sportiness of an already sporting car. A better base would, though, be difficult to find. In standard form the vehicle delivers powerful dynamics and sporting aesthetics. Thanks to an eight cylinder engine producing 414 bhp, BMW’s customers are provided with a unique driving experience. Those engine blocks, cast in BMW’s light alloy foundry in Landshut - the very source of BMW’s Formula One castings - selected for race duty need to withstand even more power: the BMW P65 race engine delivers 485 bhp. In order to enable the BMW M3 to make full use of this performance on the race circuit, the experts in Munich have not concentrated solely on the engine, but have race-tuned the chassis as well. The race version of the BMW M3 is wider and significantly lighter than its production equivalent, enabling it to perfectly transmit the power of its V8 to the track. Widespread use of carbon-reinforced plastic (CRP) provides proof of substantial weight reduction. As with the production version, the race car’s roof is manufactured from this high-tech material.

C-XF Concept from Jaguar

The C-XF concept car is a stunning, four-door sports saloon which blends design purity with unmistakable dynamism and is a clear indication of the design direction that the next generations of Jaguar saloons will take. Set into the front of the C-XF is a bold and aggressive grille finished in black chrome. Recessed deeply into the body rather than sitting flush with the surface, the visual effect is similar to that of an air intake on a jet engine and serves as a reminder that directly behind is a sophisticated and powerful 4.2-litre supercharged V8 engine. The headlamps which evolve the twin-lamp motif seen on previous Jaguars into a single slim wedge are narrow and angular. They bring an air of aggression to the C-XF’s profile, while between the lamps a blue streak of light reveals an almost cat-like iris when illuminated. Subtly etched below the lenses is a unique ‘tattoo’ design showing an abstract Jaguar leaper.

Koenigsegg CCX

he Koenigsegg CCX is the latest iteration of the Koenigsegg CC family. The CCX is in many ways a new car since it has been re-engineered to comply with the US regulation and market demands. Still, it has been a key issue for the Koenigsegg Team to keep the distinctive and record braking CC shape. Koenigsegg believes it is important to avoid trends and instead hone the aerodynamic shape of the CC range for the future, only enhancing its unique look and appearance with tighter lines and a more aggressive stance. Koenigsegg also believes in continuity. A new Koenigsegg shall show a clear lineage from its predecessor and shall not follow any other design trends, but enhance its already proven concept and shape to perfection.

Circuit Car by Lotus

The innovative and technologically advanced extruded and bonded aluminum chassis has high side sills that reduce the complexity of the chassis structure. The engine with VVTL-i (Variable Valve Timing and Lift – intelligent) is mated to a Roots-type Eaton M62 supercharger with air-to-air intercooler to give a maximum power output of 243 bhp at 8,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 174 lb-ft at 7,000 rpm. On production versions, an entry-level naturally-aspirated VVTL-i engine will also be available with 190 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 138 lb-ft at 7,000 rpm. It is equipped with latest parts and accessories which makes it one of the best when it comes to performance and style. Aside from its equipment, it also has a very powerful engine power that can outrun other modern and luxury vehicle on the road.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, colloquially known as the Evo, is a car manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors. There have been ten versions to date, and the numerical designation of the model is most commonly a roman numeral. All of them share a two liters, turbocharged engine and four-wheel drive system. Evolution models prior to version V were the officially-approved models for Mitsubishi’s efforts in the World Rally Championship’s Group a class and SCCA ProRally Championship. In order to follow these rules, the Evolution is based on the same platform as the Lancer. However, it is much more powerful than the standard Lancer, with the unibody being the only major part in common between the two.

Maserati GranTurismo

Maserati is an Italian manufacturer of racing cars and sports cars, established on December 1, 1914 in Bologna. The company’s headquarters are now in Modena, and its emblem is a trident. It is a luxury car manufacturer competing directly with Aston Martin and Jaguar, and sometimes with large German mass-producers, including Audi, Mercedes-Benz and BMW. Today, it is owned by the Italian car giant Fiat S.p.A. since 1993. Inside the Fiat Group, Maserati has been initially associated with Ferrari S.p.A., more recently it is part of the sports car Group with Alfa Romeo. The Maserati brothers, Alfieri Maserati, Bindo Maserati, Carlo Maserati, Ettore Maserati, Ernesto Maserati and Mario Maserati, were all involved with automobiles from the beginning of the 20th century. Alfieri, Bindo and Ernesto built 2-litre Grand Prix cars for Diatto. In 1926, Diatto suspended the production of race cars, leading to the creation of the first Maserati and the founding of the Maserati marque. One of the first Maseratis, driven by Alfieri, won the 1926 Targa Florio. Maserati began making race cars with 4, 6, 8 and 16 cylinders (actually two straight eights mounted parallel to one another). Mario, an artist, is believed to have devised the company’s trident emblem, based on one the Fontana del Nettuno, Bologna. Alfieri Maserati died in 1932 but three other brothers, Bindo, Ernesto and Ettore, kept the firm going, building cars that won races. In 1937, the remaining Maserati brothers sold their shares in the company to the Adolfo Orsi family, who in 1940 relocated the company headquarters to their hometown of Modena, where it remains to this day. The brothers continued in engineering roles with the company, however. Racing successes continued, even against the giants of German racing, Auto Union and Mercedes. In 1939, a Maserati 8CTF won the Indianapolis 500, a feat repeated the following year.

The new Maserati GranTurismo, styled by Pininfarina, will make its worldwide debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The Maserati GranTurismo is a muscular and sporty car, that can be enjoyed every day and at the same time is engaging for the driver. Its excellent handling and sportiveness make it a point of reference in its category. The Maserati GranTurismo is built with particular attention to comfort, choice of materials and details and with enough room for four people, as only Maserati can do. The new Maserati GranTurismo is a high-performance sports car, exciting to drive with a 4.2 liter V8 engine, delivering 405 bhp, and a weight distribution of 49% at the front and 51% at the rear. It is fitted with an automatic gearbox and equipped with an adaptive control system which adjusts the gear-shifting mode to the driving style and the driving conditions.Maserati’s tradition of the Gran Turismo concept dates back to 1947 when the Trident Company, following its clients’ demand, unveiled at the Geneva Motorshow its first Gran Turismo, the A6, designed by the great Pinin Farina. It was the first Maserati road car and was produced in 58 units. The car was acclaimed by the automotive press for its advanced technical content and for its avant-garde style solutions. The new model name – Maserati GranTurismo – is not incidental. Once again, the partnership between Maserati and Pininfarina gives birth to a car that is able to generate emotions and sets itself apart from competitors, due to the technique with which it is built and its unique style. The new Maserati GranTurismo represents a further step towards the completion of the Trident product range, following the worldwide launch of the Quattroporte Automatic at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Gumpert Apollo

Once the son of the god of war Zeus, responsible for the victory and the template for masculine beauty, he is now the namesake of the breathtakingly uncompromising super sports car that combines aesthetics and function like no other. The Gumpert Apollo is the perfect synthesis of a road vehicle and track car. It evokes passion and driving pleasure beyond all expectations. With 650 bhp, 224 mph top speed and acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in just 3 seconds, you would have to go a long way to find an alternative to Apollo. The complete package is available in a cost-benefit ratio that cannot be matched in this exclusive vehicle class. As a pure high-performance sports car with racing qualities that is also approved for use on the road, the Gumpert Apollo sets new standards.Roland Gumpert, managing director and the driving force behind the company that builds the car, has created a manufacturing environment that combines engineering excellence with wideranging automotive and racing competence. Experts within the industry are all familliar with the name Gumpert. In the mid 1970s, the long-standing Audi manager was the driving force behind the development of the vehicle “Iltis”, the original predecessor of today’s “Quattro”. In the years undere his management, Audi won a total of 25 World Rally Championship races and was the 4-time winner of the World Rally Championship.

The silhouette of the Gumpert Apollo, which has been optimized upon numerous times after tests in the wind tunnel, reflects its above-average performance capability. In its profile, the Apollo’s dynamic appearance is further enhanced by its dimensions and its streamlined, long and wide shoulder lines. The mid-engine layout is emphasized by the cockpit, which is clearly situated toward the front of the vehicle, and the long wheel base; both factors ensuring optimum driving qualities. Massive air inlets and outlets in the front, and on the side in front of and behind the doors, leave no doubt about its potency. They supply the two turbochargers and the high-performance braking system with enough fresh air to ensure that the car maintains optimum operation for the duration of the race. The Gumpert Apollo’s suspension was developed to ideally complement the clever aerodynamics of the car body, resulting in unusual driving dynamics. The Apollo is taut but not hard and offers the driver and passenger an extraordinary high level of comfort despite being purely designed for performance. It demands the complete attention of the pilot but does not overwhelm him thanks to its ultra-precise and predictable driving characteristics even at top speed. An ideal weight balance of 42 to 58 percent between the front and rear axis rounds it off.

The impressive power of the high-performance eight cylinder engine is based on the proven V8 aggregates from Audi. This engine in standard configuration is optimized for use in racing and road vehicles and produces 650 bhp as a biturbo engine. With a weight of only 430 lbs, it plays a major role in ensuring the Apollo has an ideal weight and its fascinating driving dynamics. Via the two exhaust gas turbochargers, the combustion chambers are force-fed fresh air that has previously been cooled to the ideal temperature in large intercoolers. The sequential six-speed transmission, that incorporates Formula 1 know-how, guarantees the efficient implementation of the energy generated. The air conditioning system guarantees the perfect interior temperature while traveling. The high-end navigation system with DVD-player and sound system helps you get from A to B and delivers in-car-entertainment. The backward facing camera integral to the system helps the driver when reversing or, as Gumpert says, simply shows him how quickly the overtaken cars disappear from view.

Vauxhall VXR8

The dramatic-looking new saloon is powered by the same 6.0-liter V8 as the outgoing Monaro VXR, but revisions to the engine have made it even more efficient. It now develops a massive 420 bhp and 406 lb-ft of torque, giving it enough grunt to sprint from 0-60 mph in just 4.9 seconds. No other supercar offers this sort of power for anywhere near the VXR8’s price. Yet the VXR8, based on Australia ’s Holden HSV Clubsport R8, offers more in the way of practicality than the outgoing Monaro, with four doors and space for all the family.

Although practical, with a spacious boot, comfortable, long-legged cruising ability and luxuries such as climate control and leather trim, the VXR8 is certainly no softie. Driver aids such as the stability system and traction control can be turned off at the flick of a switch – perfect for drivers who want to hone their skills on a track day. And VXR8 goes as well as it stops, too, with powerful 365mm front disc brakes that slow the car down from 60 mph to a standstill faster than a Lamborghini Murcielago or BMW M5.

In response to customer demand, the VXR8 will also be the first VXR model to be offered with an automatic gearbox. In order to maintain the control which VXR buyers require, the optional £1,400 self-shifter has a manual override and a sport setting which ensure the performance isn’t blunted – in fact the auto is only half a second slower to 60 mph than the manual.

MINI will shave off the top of their top-spec John Cooper Works at the Geneva Motor Show in March when they unveil the MINI JCW Convertible. That’s good enough for 211bhp, an amazing 206lb ft of torque available from a lower rev, and a 0-60mph time of 6.9 seconds. That extra torque comes courtesy of a Sport button, unique to JCW models, which when activated, sharpens steering and throttle response.Another JCW-only models is the Electronic Differential Lock Control (EDLC) which lets you unleash the speed demon inside you and still maintain firm grip of the tarmac as you skirt round corners and tight bends.Other justifications for that hefty tag come from bespoke 17” alloy wheels, extra-large disc brakes with Brembo calipers, lots of JCW badging, an Aero kit, and a bespoke JCW Alcantara steering wheel, sports seats and a glossy piano black interior.

Aston Martin DB9

Aston Martin DB9 specs Top Speed: 186 mph / 300 km/h 0-60 mph: 4.7 seconds 0-100 mph: 10.8 seconds Engine: 6.0-liter V-12
Aston Martin's cars reflect the power of idea combined with the aesthetics of the technology. This popular sports car maker at Warwickshire, England, now keeps itself ahead of its competitors with its modern DB9 sports GT car. The name 'DB' is derived from David Brown, the owner of Aston Martin. The DB9 model was designed by Ian Callum, elder of the famous car-designer brothers of England.

The craftsmanship of Aston Martin has been the key identifying factor of their cars. DB9 is no exception to it. Aston's sports car concept is all about character and involvement of the driver. Identifying the needs on the roads had been a great challenge to these carmakers and that is the reason why they developed the perfect sports car with an aerodynamic efficiency.

The body panels of DB9 are made of aluminum and its lightweight composites. The lightweight material, combined with its aerodynamic body, removes all the doubts about its performance. The extremely lightweight body that weighs 1710kg had been an impossibility for a fully equipped V12 powered sports car till the advent of 2006 Aston Martin DB9. And the speed? An awesome 186mph!

The attractive features of this Volante are the perfectly sculpted body panels, 19-inch alloy wheels, titanium wheel nuts the lateral air vents and concealed pop-up door handles. The trunk occupies a mere 6.1cubic feet. Amazingly, it carries twelve cylinders and altogether a weight of about two tons.

The gear change system inside the DB9 is an interesting piece of work. Its pretty much a switch between a luxury car and a race car. The Touchtronic manual mode enables the gear changes using the paddles mounted behind the steering wheel, and the automatic gear change option allows the gear changing according to the various driving conditions.

DB9's instrument panel comes with a difference. The tachometer that is used inside the DB9 runs in the anticlockwise direction and does not have the red line to indicate the rpm limit. The rpm limit is indicated by a red warning light when the vehicle attains the red line limit.

Launched in 2004, as a replacement to the older model, DB7, DB9 brought record sales to the company. This fast car continues its expedition in the New Year pausing challenges to its competitors. The sale of DB9 has crossed 5000 units per year, a figure that the rivals, Ferrari F430 and Porsche 911 had boasted for. This has encouraged the DB9 loyalists to increase the production of DB9 than the previous models.

The DB9 has been the favorite of sports car fans since its launch. It is used both as a two-seat Volante convertible and a 2+2 coupe with an extra back seat. The titanium wheel nuts are capable of lowering the ride height by about 6mm, and thus offer easy suspension modifications as per the requirements.

DB9 has been the popular choice of sports car lovers because of its important features- best transmission, affordability, and the performance.

America no longer takes a backseat in the world of supercars. The 2006 SSC Ultimate Aero is the fastest American car on the road. Shelby Super Cars (SSC) has created the Ultimate Aero as direct competition to the new Bugatti Veyron. The Ultimate Aero is best known for its stability and endurance at speeds greater than 250 mph. In fact, it is estimated (in wind tunnel tests) that the supercar’s top speed is closer to 273 mph.

Exclusive and Record Breaking Speed
The Ultimate Aero is an exclusive automobile to own. Only twenty-five Aeros will be created throughout 2006 and 2007. There is not an exact breakdown, however, of the number of traditional Aeros and Ultimate Aeros in that number. The traditional Aero sports car is nothing to sneeze at with top speeds around 240 mph, but the SSC Ultimate Aero rules the road. In fact, in the Ultimate Aero broke the Road & Track slalom record formerly held by the Ferrari Enzo.

The fact that it can be driven on the highway as well as on the racetrack is really amazing. This car does not use any special aviation fuel like most of the supercars and yet it is known to outperform it's rival cars like the Porsche, Ferrari or Lamborghini. Ford Motor Company has decided to produce only 4200 GT sports car units in the 2005-2006 years. Depending on chosen accessories, retail price varies from $143,000 to $157,000. Ford GT is really incredible when it comes to its racing performance. In 0-60mph test GT (3.3 sec) beats a $193,000 Ferrari Challenge Stradale (4.0 sec) by 0.7 seconds.
Ford GT features 18-inch front wheels, 19-inch rear wheels and GoodYear Eagle F1 Supercar tires. All GT models share one common design element, which makes their exterion look so amazing. The doors are cut into the roof of the car, this fact gives itr a very specific and exotic look.

MC12 has a V12 engine that was downtuned from the supercar Ferrari Enzo 660 PS to 630 PS (at 7000 rpm). However it remains a DOHC with 65 degree with four valves per cylinder.
MC12´ gearbox is also identical to the one used in Ferrari Enzo sports car, it´s Ferrari´s six-speed manual gear shifting box with paddles behind the steering wheel for quick and easy access.
Only 25 models of fast car MC12 were built in 2004 and another 25 in year 2005. Only the luckiest sports car and supercar collecting enthusiasts were able to obtain themselves one of these exotic car beauties.

Leblanc Mirabeau specs

Leblanc Mirabeau specs
Top Speed: 230 mph / 370 km/h
Engine: Aluminum V8 Superchared

The European creation is allegedly qualified to compete at the race track in Le Mans, France, but unlike other race cars, is completely street legal. The 2005 Mirabeau boasts a price tag of $579,000 and an almost unlimited number of customization options - including the installation of a modern Formula 1 engine.

Street-Legal Race Car

Ascari A10 specs

Ascari A10 specs
Top Speed: 220 mph / 354 km/h
0-60 mph: 2.8 seconds
Engine: 5 liter, V8 BMW M5 4941 cc 625HP
The Ascari A10 sports car, developed by British manufacturers and similar to the Spanish GT version, is rated in the top ten supercars for 2006. Its lightweight carbon fiber body of less than 3,000 pounds is designed more for the racetrack than the road. There were only a few models of this fast car built, somewhere between 10 and 50, and although expensive, it promises incredible speed and power.

The power of the Ascari A10 comes from the modified BMW 5.0 liter V-8 engine, with the standard six-speed sequential transaxle, where the gearshifts operate as paddles, similar to other race cars. Additions and modifications to the engine, however, include cams with advanced timing, new rods, and pistons, as well as a dry sump lubrication system. It has the same steel sub-frame for the power train and rear suspension as the KZ1 sports car, but the height of the coil spring units can be adjusted hydraulically on front and rear. This is a unique feature, not found on most other supercars, where adjustments can only be made manually. Handling should be easier than before, with front and rear anti-roll bars installed, which are also adjustable. The builders of the A10, not to be outdone by their competitors and to ensure adequate braking at such high speeds, have installed ventilated ceramic disc brakes, with 6-pot calipers on the front and 4-pot calipers on the rear. The exterior design of this luxury race car is more dramatic than its predecessor the KZ1, with wider headlamps, a different grille, and higher wheel arches to accommodate larger rear tires. In addition, it features a splitter in the front, fixed rear wing, and five detachable body panels for added race trace utility. Even with standard features such as a battery isolator, rollover cage, electric windows, and air conditioning, it still weighs 55 pounds less than the KZ1.

Klaas Zwart, the owner of Ascari, may well have designed the fastest exotic car in the UK, outperforming the Ferrari Enzo as is claimed. The A10 is certainly a rare and distinctive car, one that is much desired to own.

The Tesla Roadster

In the 21st century automobile industry, the question weather the car is gas based or ecologically friendly is a major deal for the costumer. As the oil prices continue to soar up, oil based cars start to become a thing of the past, however, the term “car” will not pass into the books of history for indeed, a very long time. For this reason many different type’s of renewable fuel sources are being introduced to the market and this time, the car is not just a hybrid, but, 100% ecologically friendly and renewable. The car that is taking the first step toward this is the is the remarkable, Tesla Roadster. The Tesla Roadster 100% electric powered car. The car is powered by a 3-phase, 4 pole AC induction electric engine which receives its energy from several thousand lithium ion batteries capable of storing 53 kilowatt-hour worth of electricity. That amount of power is capable of accelerating the ELECTRIC car from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 3.9 seconds, taking the car beyond the acceleration of a Lamborghini Murcielago, without compromising for efficiency. The car also has a top speed of 125 mph (201 km/h). If compared to a regular car, the Tesla would have 135 miles per gallon, only that without polluting the environment. For this reason the Tesla Roadster has no exhaust pipe. The Tesla is capable of doing 220 miles on a full charge, something no other electric production car in the world can hope to achieve. You maybe thinking this is quite a short range, but remember that you can completely charge your car every night, by just attaching the charge cable. Also, remember that electric technology has only recently been introduced into the automobile industry (compared with gas based cars over 100 years) and the cars already have 220 miles per charge. It would be very likely that in the next 20 years, with the possible use of superconductors, we would see electric cars with 800+ miles per charge. Another advantage of electric cars is that by using electricity you get instant power, which relates to instant speed, something that internal combustion engines can not do. In addition, electric cars don’t produce much sound, making them much more quiet and calm. Yet, don’t get me wrong, push the pedal to the floor and you will instantly feel and hear the power at your disposal. The electric engine in the Tesla is also a bit larger than a watermelon, yet it can still defeat the massive Lamborghini engine. By having a smaller, lighter engine the car’s efficiency greatly improves. The Tesla also uses an advanced storage system known as the Energy Storing System. Here is were all you batteries are contained in a perfect environment, with many different sensors that give you a status report on the condition of your batteries and how much more mileage to you have. This system makes the car much safer and enjoyable to drive. Another very important characteristic of the Tesla Roadster is its design. The Tesla can be considered one of today’s most beautiful cars. It host very nice smooth straight lines that gives the car its futuristic look and catches your eye as if you were looking straight into the 21st century. The Tesla Motor company offers many distinctive and beautiful colors to pick from, making the car more customizable. The car has numerous intakes to cool the inside of your car and not allow for some components quite hot, like the brakes. Inside the Tesla is a world designed for the future of cars. The car’s interior contains some classic looks while integrating it with modern computer-systems and modern designs. The Tesla holds leather seats that make your drive more comfortable. The Tesla also poses a Visual Display System which gives you the possibility to ensure security in your car with a number of other functions. At the end this amazing car starts at $109,000 making it still a little expensive. However, after years of development we are finally starting to see its results, the introduction of various types of fuels for our energy thirsty society. By introducing this impressive technology we can only ensure a better, safer and happier future for all of us.
